Guard of Honour: –

Cadets of Ranks Senior Division can give Guard of Honour to the following officers-

1.      President of India, Vice president of India, Prime Minister OF India

2.      Governors of State, Lt. Governors

3.      Defence Minister, Minister of State Defence

4.      Army, Air Force, Navy chiefs and Defence Secretary

5.      General officer Commanding in chief

6.      VVIP

7.      Director General National Cadet Corps

8.      Chancellor, Professors as a Chief Guest

Strength of Cadets in Guard of Honour-

The number of cadets who can present the Guard of Honour to various dignitaries is as follows-
1. 150 cadets for the President who will stand in three lines.

2. 100 cadets for Vice President and Prime Minister who will stand in two lines.

       3. And 50 cadets for VIP who will stand in 2 lines.

Procedure Guard of Honour-

The method of giving the Guard of Honour is as follows-

1. 24 cadets will stand in the age row and 24 cadets in the back row at the Guard of Honour stall.

The guard will stand in two divisions. There will be a gap of three steps between the two divisions.

2. The guard will be located to the right and closed at a distance of 7 steps from the viewer’s right. The drum major in the first line may take two steps forward and the band master will take three steps forward.

3. Two steps away from the stage on either side ASD will stand on the front edge of the stage.

4. As the VIP gets down from the car, the guard commander will alert the guard and the officer conducting the Guard of Honour will bring the VIP to the salute stage and himself will stand 3 steps behind the center of the stage.

5. After this the Guard Commander will give the words of command in a loud voice.

6.After this, the Guard Commander will give orders for the arms. After that the commander will march to the edge and bow in front of the stage. Will salute the VIP and report as follows – “The Guard of Honour is present for your inspection, Sir”.

7. VIP will step down from the stage and walk with the Guard Commander to inspect the guard. The Guard Commander will be on his left while marching and the Guard Commander will be on his right during inspection.

8. At the time of inspection and with the first sound of the band, Guard will turn his head and look at Whip. And the inspection is over, on the last sound of the band, all the cadets of the guard will put their necks and foreheads in front. The Guard Commander will walk to the left of the whip and lead it to the officer conducting the whip and will stop and salute the VIP And at his place commander will order the guard to rest. After the departure of the VIP, the process of immersion will take place.
