Weapon Training


Weapon training is very important for NCC cadets. The following sequence should be followed for the examination of the weapon: –

1)     Initial work counting, dividing the squad into groups, inspection, checking equipment

2)     Repetition.

3)     Lesson Objectives.

4)     Objects.

5)     Statement.

6)     Parts of the lesson.

7)     Questioning and asking questions if soldiers have any doubts.

8)     Squad practice.

9)     weapon inspection at the end of the lesson.

 

Rifle

The following rifles are used in the NCC today: –

1.      Mark iii 0.303 or 77 mm bore

2.      Mark iv -0.22 inch or 56 mm bore

Rifle cleaning

The following materials are required for cleaning a rifle: –

1.      Pull thru

2.      Wire Gaige

3.      Oil

4.      flea net

 

Loading And Unloading of Rifle


On load command, engage the safety switch, take the charger out of the pouch. Clean and inspect hold the charger clip with your right hand
With the pointed end of the round facing the target, place it on the charger bridge guide and press the round down with your right thumb as follows that all rounds get stuck in the magazine chamber (lips). If the chamber does not go round, press the round down and give it a lift.

If it still doesn’t go, then slap the magazines. Take out the charger flip with the right hand. Then jerk the vault forward, retract the safety catch and turn off the pouch button.

To unload the rifle, push the safety catch forward and hold the rifle firmly with the left hand and tilt the stock with the right hat, move the vault back and forth. Move back and forth until the chamber and magazine are empty. Close the vault. pull the trigger and engage the safety trigger.


Target theory

The following are the main principles for good aim: –

Competition of Shooting-

1.      Grouping Fire

2.      Application Fire

3.      Snap Shooting

4.      Advance Shooting: –

a.      Lying position

b.      Standing position

c.      Kneeling position

 शिस्त – hold the rifle straight, close one eye, keeping an eye on the foresight Join the tip of the foresight to the center of the target equal to the height of both shoulders. Pressing the trigger without moving it शिस्त is called trigger control.
